Kayode John Oyewumi, is a Professor of Theoretical Physics in the Department of Physics, faculty of Physical Sciences, University of Ilorin, with about 3 decades of university teaching, research and administrative experience. He has served as Head of Department and the current Dean, Faculty of Physical Sciences. His areas of research interest include: Methods of mathematical physics (perturbative and non-perturbative techniques), Statistical Properties of physical Models, information entropy theory, Symmetries of physical systems in spaces of constant curvature, SUSY, nuclear physics, generalized uncertainty principle and collective Bohr Hamiltonian theory. He has published over 90 Journal articles in Physics and related disciplines in ISI-ranked journals. He has supervised several M.Sc. dissertations and 3 Ph.D. theses. Prof. Oyewumi is a recipient of ICMPA-ICTP-UNESCO Postdoctoral Fellowship, Universite d’Abomey Calavi, Benin Republic; TWAS-UNESCO Research Associate Fellowship, University of Hyderabad, India; ICTP-TRIL Fellowship Award, INFN, Perugia, Italy. He was the Editor-in-Chief, Ilorin Journal of Science.
